Earlier this year I was commissioned to do this interesting project. I got the job through my wife, how cool is that.

SNUGGbaby is a Malaysian, one-woman, hand-made business of making quality babywearing carriers.

I can’t wait to see these get printed.

My Saladin Works

I’ve NEVER uploaded my Saladin works. I think it’s high time that I should. So here, these are a few of my works for the marketing dept of Saladin – The Animated Series.

The current version of the website is fully done in Flash. I did the portion with the flip book layout.

In addition to working together with Aizil, the head of my dept on the website, I also worked on A LOT of the posters and print ads with my good friend, CGI artist Cheah Yew Cheung (CYCOMarts). Most of these posters/ads appeared in international trade magazines, so maybe not many have seen them locally. Ironic, because it IS a locally produced animation.

This banner is for the local station airing Saladin, TV3. They are showing the show in Malay, hence the change in language. Catch it on TV3, Saturdays at 7:30pm!

Oleh kerana saya akan akhirnya menyaksikan Foo Fighters beraksi secara langsung di depan mata (walau mungkin akan tenggelam dek lautan manusia), saya rasa terbaik jika saya teruskan melukis semua ahli kumpulan muzik kesukaan saya dari zaman muda-mudi lagi ini. Sebenarnya saya sangat EXCITED tetapi sedang choba CONTAIN my EXCITEMENT ini. Ya. Sabarrrr…bawak bertenanggggg…Gagagagaga..

Well, I know it’s pretty late to wish Happy New Year 2012 to everyone..but honestly, who is this “everyone” am I referring to here? Only spambots checkout my blog. Anyway, yes..It’s a new year, it’s a little bit of a slow start for me. I’m currently, not really, “working” so to speak.

So I’ve been spending most of my time catching up with my reading..Comics, of course..especially. And you know what? Comics are really GOOD right now. I mean, really, REALLY GOOD. I had a marathon read of Dan Slott’s Amazing Spider-Man run from Big Time all the way to the epic Spider-Island. CRAZY FUN. Finally found a copy of Same Difference by Derek Kirk Kim, one of the earliest online web comics I ever read back in the day. Really changed and made me respect the indie scene. Got the super thick Habibi. Interesting read, that one. The new Ultimate Spidey – I’m sad that version of Peter Parker had to die, but Miles Morales FTW! And finally, Daredevil. What can I say, everyone’s been saying how good it is and how refreshing and different and upbeat it is compared to how it was before this..I just had to check it out. Blew me away.

To think I was ready to quit comics. Ha. No..Everything’s so very inspiring. I’ve even got a few ideas percolating in my head to pen some of my own. This is the year I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna go all out and get back in the comics-making business. Last year was weird. I won an award for my (SAGA) comic, but I actually didn’t draw one the whole year.

And now that I know no one reads my blog, I’m gonna ramble on and on a lot like this again.

Malaysian Comics Fan Art #6: Kecemprengman!

Tribute kepada watak-watak komik tempatan MASIH DITERUSKAN…Niat asal untuk buat seminggu kan, maka perlulah 7 entri. Maka, untuk edisi ke-enam ini saya telah melukis watak komik yang serba kelakar oleh karyawan dengan nama penanya yang kelakar (tapi orangnya nampak garang) juga.. Kecemprengman oleh POYO. Diterbitkan oleh Komik-M dan tak silap saya sudah keluar 2 volume setakat ini.

Sasaran Komik-M ni lebih kepada budak-budak..namun begitu, pada saya judul seperti Kecemprengman ni masih boleh saya layan lagi..mungkin kerana tahap kesewelan watak-watak dan gaya penceritaan Poyo yang bersahaja. Klik INI untuk ke FB page beliau.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled Local Comics Tribute/Fan Art for this little distraction.

I’ve always wanted to draw my favourite band ever since I developed my so-called musical taste. And it’s always bummed me out that I haven’t. I couldn’t wait to upload til I finished drawing all of the Foo Fighters (because likenesses are hard, yo). So here. Dave Grohl. I tried to capture his energy whenever performing live. What do you think? Ok dok?

Wasting Light has managed to do the impossible after all these years, and that is to be their BEST ALBUM EVER. Datang la Malaysia woi!
