Bali Anniversary (Part I)

December 31st, 2008 by tarakucha

Our first trip requiring passports as hubby & wifey..Oooh! Exciting!!

The wife and I were lucky enough we could squeeze some time around our First Year Anniversary to go for a trip to Bali. My father-in-law won a couple of AirAsia tickets to any of their destinations in a golf tournament. He gave the tickets to us as our wedding present, and it was about to expire this month, so it was really good timing. Besides, we never got around to go for our honeymoon.

So without much blah-blah-blah-ing, I present you..the pictures!

As soon as we landed, the airport was the first thing that caught our attention. We had a feeling we’d be seeing a lot of these things soon enough.

We were greeted by the free ride the hotel had arranged, and went straight to Jalan Legian, Kuta. In the middle of this crazy street full of surf shops was where we stayed: the Bali Surgawi Hotel. For something just around RM80 (250,000 rupiah) a night, this place was really sweet.

Our room. Like I said..sweet, right? It had the basics: tv, fridge, a nice comfy bed. And the toilet/bath was clean, with hot water.

After settling into our room and some rest, we decided to walk it out through the rows of shops on our street. We were like, whoa. Surf shops all the way!

The things you would find here are cool, odd and such a wild mix..like those horned skulls motorcycle helmets, batik place, and horse carriage.

It was getting dark already and we had walked quite a bit when we came to this area, where the 2002 Bali Bombings happened. They had erected a monument in remembrance of the victims of the bombings.

And then it started to rain, so we headed back to our hotel. We stopped by a Nasi Padang place on the way for our dinner (takde la sedap mana sangat..in fact, punya la tak sedap, kitorang tak beli food dari situ dah for the next couple of days). When we got back to the hotel, we got to goofing around a lil bit, posing for pics around the place.

And that’s all just from the first few hours! *Phew!* See you in Part II!

Abang Iparku Bintang Siri Realiti!

December 23rd, 2008 by tarakucha

He pilots aeroplanes. He drifts cars. He shoots photography. And now, he’s a reality series star. OMG. :D

“Double Exposure”. Point. Click. Snap. Be Famous.

It’s Sony’s show for aspiring/amateur photographers and to promote their line of DSLR cameras: The α series.

A few episodes are online already, and I hear it’s going to be on tv early next year. “All 30 contestants will be racing against each other to win the final grand prize that also includes a cover shoot for a magazine,” explained Mr. George Wong, Product Manager for Sony α.

He is a very good photographer, and for his sheer guts to appear in front of the camera for a change, I salute him. So you, you and you! Vote for him! FIVE STARS!

Oh, and while you’re at it, go visit his blog. A lotta nice pictures there. Yes, he took ‘em. Dammit.

The Haj Process Chart Spotted!

December 17th, 2008 by tarakucha

A friend from my previous office got a copy of this chart and only just realized it was my artwork when reading through this post. And he was kind enough to take a picture of it for me, because I’ve never seen it myself. He said the chart was included with a guidebook of some kind. Thanks, Zabil!

Bolt: Bila Disney tempias Pixar (dan sepasang suami isteri berkelakuan dorky)

December 17th, 2008 by tarakucha

Dengan tiket yang berharga RM17 setiap satu, kami telah pergi menonton pilem dengan gimik 3D buat kali kedua (yang pertama Journey To The Center of The Earth 3D) di Sunway Piramid. Walau tak se-3D pilem pertama tu, tapi masih berbaloi kerana Bolt ni amat menghiburkan. Kira macam tak pernah la sebelum ni aku suka cerita-cerita yang watak utama dia anjing. Aku tak suka anjing. Tapi aku suka Bolt. Dia anjing yang best. Tengok, siap aku lukis dia lagi kat atas tu lepas dah lama tak melukis.

Ni pulak rupa kami dengan spek mata 3D tu. Bergaya kan?

Komikoo #7 Akhirnya Terbit!

December 1st, 2008 by tarakucha
