For awhile now, some of Mdec’s Previous IPCC Digital Comic winners have agreed to upload content of their winning entries to the Bluehyppo Kidz Club Portal. This includes, yours truly. Unfortunately as of right now, they say that the segment is undergoing maintenance. But they’re providing a link right there which goes to this.

To my surprise, Saga is rated quite high there..with the most number of raters. Alhamdulillah..looks like the e-browse subscribers are liking the comic. Maybe now can we print and sell the book already? Heh.

So if you’re an e-browse subscriber, you can read it now there for free in a slightly different format and less pages to flip through than what I have uploaded here in my site. Plus, there’s all the other IPCC comics they’re offering as well. Cool stuff!

Alhamdulillah, last Sunday also saw the birth of 50 printed (promotional) copies of Saga: The Exclusive Comic Preview. Previously only in digital format, this is our next step towards publishing the full volume.. Thanks to Azihan, the book looks great. Some minor printing and editing errors aside, i’m pretty satisfied with the way it turned out.

The preview book has 9 pages of each chapter. And the whole is 44 pages of full-coloured fun! As of this moment, 5 copies of the preview is on the way to San Diego Comic Con, thanks to Aik Wee. More copies will be circulated to potential sponsors, distributors, publishers and otai-otai komik..

The preview book right now really kicks back some semangat into the team to push towards finishing the whole thing up. I’m really excited over the new prologue and epilogue chapters that Prem and Gecko are working on, and hopefully everything will turn out according to plan. InsyaAllah, I’ll keep all you interested people posted.

The online version has long been up here on the site..Plans for the print version are under discussion.

We’re making a few adjustments to the art to improve it for the print version..
Plus, we also still have 2 short chapters as the epilogue and monologue in the works..respectively done by the talented Mister Mushadie (Prem Chopra) and Mister Khairul Ammar (Silent Gecko).

So..Any publishers interested out there to print a full-coloured a 100 ++ pages of Malaysian graphic novel?

Alhamdulillah..pada tanggal 13 November 2007..Saga selamat saya submit pada pihak MDEC.

Andai kalian masih ingat, Saga merupakan entri kami yang menjadi salah satu pemenang dalam MSC Malaysia Digital Comic Design Competition 2006. Ketika itu kami berenam sebenarnya cuma main tibai aje submit last minit, tak sangka nak dapat apa-apa..idea asalnya pun rasanya sudah mencecah 2 tahun lebih dalam kepala saya..

Masa tarikh masuk competition tu makin nak tutup dulu, tiba-tiba terdetik nak hantar cerita Saga. Terus contact saudara Roy, yang masa tu tengah berlibur di Jepun, mintak dia buatkan skrip utk pitch. Heh.. Orang-orang yang memang telah sedia berkata mahu sertai projek Saga ni pun, dimaklumkan..mereka setuju. Agaknya kitorang tak tau what we were getting ourselves into.

Apa-apa hal, format yang dikehendaki MDEC telah kami siapkan..tetapi komik Saga ni bukan akan dicetak/diedar/dijual dalam masa terdekat ni..yang itu…insyaAllah akan datang..masih dalam perbincangan..nanti pasal tu, kita update kemudian la tengok perkembangan dia macam mana..ok? (sementara tu, kita nantikan komikoo!)

Terima kasih tak terkata diucapkan kepada kawan-kawan yang sekali berjuang seksa gila untuk siapkan projek ni. Ensalim, kau orang pertama aku ajak untuk join..39, era setting cerita kau memang sesuai sangat dengan stroke ko. Bohrtaag, kau memang best. Cerita rompakan biasa yg aku pikirkan, terus jadi lain, daripada topeng tukang potong rumput terus jadi cosplay. Mus, seronok aku first time tengok cover yg ko buat ni..kita tunggu plak chapter ko nanti..hehe. Roy, nasib baik ko cakap “ok”..kalo tidak sampai sekarang kelam kabut kot kitorang nak structure story.

Terima kasih jugak pada mereka yang aku anggap sistem sokongan aku dah..khusus utk chapter aku, bohrtaag memang saling banyak tolong melayan ym sambil melukis..dan jugak tangh, si kamal masrun yang tersenyum itu..kerana tolong last minit buat layout pages2 akhir aku.. Utk bakal bini ku bulan depan ni, thanks so much ler sebab bersabor and bagi moral support..words from you memang always means more. Untuk family sebab sabar n sokong jugak..Mak bagi makan bila ajis mc takgi keje utk dok rumah buat pun dah cukup best dah..

So panjang sangat dah ni. Banyak gila aku belajar along the way buat Saga ni..banyak lagi nak tulis, tapi simpan-simpan la dulu untuk published version nanti..mueheheh..Orait! ..it has been awhile since i updated..but this news is worth getting my malas self to type here..Alhamdulillah, idea Saga yg dah setahun lebih di-build up sendiri dan kemudian sesama kawan2 (salim, prem, 39, botak, roy, n yg lain2 yg penah contribute n support jugak), selepas dah dihantar sebagai pitch, di-shortlist jadi finalist, semalam present kat Pitching Day MSC Malaysia Digital Comic Design Competition 2006… shortlisted entries consisted of 20 pitches…and after judging by the panel, 10 pitches will receive the RM15,000 grant…aaaand..We’re one of them!
