Huhu..Alhamdulillah, sudah selamat keluar TV pada hari Sabtu (16/08/08) tempohari..walaupun saya rasa saya agak tension sebab muka saya rupanya kontrol hensem melampau (tapi gagal melampau!), tapi nak buat cemana, nervous dowh..

Ini sedutan segmen kami “Mat-mat kreatif” (aduuuhh)..diorang edit out sikit jawapan saya tentang bagaimana saya mula berjinak-jinak dengan komik (selepas bercakap tentang zine DIY, saya cakap saya tak buat zine, tapi masuk competition IPCC Comic Pitch 2006) maka, tak nampak la muka saya sengih kejap mention saya menang duit time tu dulu..Hahahha..panjang sangat kot saya jawab..tapi diorang yang suruh jawab panjang-panjang..hampeh.

Interviu dengan Adijin pun sempoi, kerana aku rasa that’s probably one of the very few times Adijin opens up and berbicara dengan agak banyak tentang komiknya sendiri. Biasa kalau borak dengan dia sure sembang pasal komik DC favourite dia si Green Lantern tu.

Ben’s artwork for his Iris-iris Ingatan pun not bad. Chee juga. Tapi feel komikoo agak lain kali ni, sebab print on kertas sokkabar. Ringan gila.

Belilah Komikoo! Serius. Beli la!

Alhamdulillah, last Sunday also saw the birth of 50 printed (promotional) copies of Saga: The Exclusive Comic Preview. Previously only in digital format, this is our next step towards publishing the full volume.. Thanks to Azihan, the book looks great. Some minor printing and editing errors aside, i’m pretty satisfied with the way it turned out.

The preview book has 9 pages of each chapter. And the whole is 44 pages of full-coloured fun! As of this moment, 5 copies of the preview is on the way to San Diego Comic Con, thanks to Aik Wee. More copies will be circulated to potential sponsors, distributors, publishers and otai-otai komik..

The preview book right now really kicks back some semangat into the team to push towards finishing the whole thing up. I’m really excited over the new prologue and epilogue chapters that Prem and Gecko are working on, and hopefully everything will turn out according to plan. InsyaAllah, I’ll keep all you interested people posted.

Long story short, late last week, Gecko (Ammar) invited me and Adijin to be panels on the local magazine/entertainment show for *gulp* teens; Tv3’s Remaja.

We were to talk about comics. From three distinct point-of-views: The professional international artist (Adijin), the up-and-coming local artist (Me) and the die-hard ‘peminat tegar’ fans (Gecko). It was a closed recording, and it happened last Sunday (20 July 2008).

As Ntv7 is a sister company of Tv3 as part of the Media Prima family, i guess that’s why the recording was done at their studio in Glenmarie Shah Alam. Sampai sesat-sesat cari tempat dia. (Pictures courtesy of Adijin.)

Once we arrived, we were to be..”remaja-rized”. Heh. Make-up. And I thought my wedding was the last time I’d be wearing make-up.

And then we were to hang around until it came time for our segment.

It was pretty impressive to see how the hosts and crew did their jobs take by take.

But we were also busy taking our own pictures.

..Very..very..busy.

..Unfortunately, we didn’t take any pictures during the recording itself. It was kinda fun, two rounds of questions. Our comics were made into props, scattered on the table on the set. From DIY zines, to rare collectors items, to local gems..we had it all. Some examples: Saga Preview Book, Komikoo, Silent Hill, Din Teksi, Zine Alifstyle Orang Kuat, Sin City, Urban Comics, Civil War TPB, Ultimates 2 HC, Abe, Calvin & Hobbes, Dragonball, etc..

“Remaja” nyaaaa..hahahaha.

They even let us in here to see the other side of the recording process.

And then we went back for cendol and rojak at Subang 15. Hopefully the Remaja episode will show sometime around August (16th maybe). Will update with that til then.
