Alhamdulillah..The planned launch on Sunday (28/03/2010) went by relatively smooth. The reason for the late update, I guess..is because I’ve been recovering from the event and deadlines at the office weren’t helping. Here are some snapshots of the event, courtesy of my wife and also whoever it was Mr. Zamzami passed his camera to.
The stage is set for the unveiling..
The buntings are “gempaq giler”..
This was the only shot I managed to take with my Saga bunting. Abang Ujang hanya mampu gelak melihat aksi tak cute ini.
After a small speech by Brother Ujang, the thingamajig was unveiled..he and Karangkraf’s boss lady Puan Firdaus put down their John Hancocks. After that, we did too.

Receiving his complimentary copies of all three COMiX21 titles. Tapi Saga kat depan sekali wihu~~! 
Mr. 39 and Mr. Roy of team Saga also made an appearance to support the launch.

Was that Ujang of the famed Gila2 komik? Anyway, after reading the Saga, am sure thoes who appreciate good drawings n story line would love it. So dont worry, I am not saying it will be a best seller but the very least it will become collectors’ item as it is unique with 4 parts by different ppl without losing the plot.Anyway dont you think the price is a bit pricey 4 ppl on the streets?

pops, u’re right, that is THE Ujang, a.k.a. abang’s idola masa kecik dulu.. hehe..
regarding the price, well, as a person on the street myself, i think it’s pretty reasonable. but that’s just me. i’m probably a biased person on the street.

Price-wise..because of the size, the quality of the paper and the full-coloured pages..it’s actually already the lowest it could go to make any money.
Other available comics nowadays aren’t that cheap either..Even digest-sized, black and white ones cost RM7.. the monthly hong kong alih bahasa ones..i think dah RM4..let’s not even get into how much the imported foreign books like DC or Marvel are..
Maybe back in the day, the price would be an issue..but these days it’s just a matter of whether or not people are into buying well-made local comics…

Well I have to admit that I stop buying comics since 90′s and the last I bought was Marvel’s spiderman which cost me a good 15 bucks. But then it would have only cost 8 ringgits if I buy from any mamak shop and a 6 months wait.
Good to know that Saga is a competitive price.
